Dog Owner Reviews

took my puppy here once on the way home from a visit and I’m so glad I did! the dog park is very large, with a separate puppy area and a partially closed off ‘training’ area that could be used for a spot to chill for a minute. gazebo in the middle, benches, a covered picnic area, and plenty of pet-friendly water fountains. overall it was a very positive experience, will definitely be back!

Best kept dog park in the area. I normally prefer to take alfie of leash hiking but when you need some extra socializing it’s great. Big and small dog areas. Time out pens. Obstacles, and just enough parking so it doesn’t get crazy packed. The people that go there / support it really take care of it. While they are watching their dogs they are taking and picking up leaves as well...

Really enjoyed this park. The walking path around the inside was great. I could get my steps in while my dog played. She would check in with me then go back to playing. It was well kept, clean, and the dogs and owners were friendly.

Visit if you want your dog attacked and flea infested.I regret bringing my dog to this park. I drove by here today and I heard a dog scream in pain as it was bit by another dog. I need to avoid driving past this dog park.

The park is a great size. Very clean and structured. It's separated between large dogs and smaller dogs. There's also a 'penalty box' if a dog needs to cool off for a few minutes. This park is at the top of our list now.

I’m a resident of Chelmsford, I brought my 6 month old 13lb puppy there today. The park was maintained well, clean and greatly sectioned off with signs… or so I thought!!!!!!!! My puppy was on the 25lb and under side. I chatted with a few people that had very well behaved small dogs. THEN a man brought in his German Shepherd!!!!! She was out of control and immediately went after my puppy (probably because he was the most scared dog). The dog held mine against the fence while I demanded the man call his dog. The man refused and I had to launch in between the big Shepard!!! The man didn’t speak much English nor did he sense the urgency in my voice. I could ramble on for a long time about the damage this German Shepard has caused my puppy but I don’t have the time. My dog is learning how to interact with other small dogs and THIS was a huge setback!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I’m a little late since I’ve been off social media for some time but reading through these reviews were quite funny. My dog and I come here pretty much every day. Dogs, like humans, have good days and bad days. I think patience and kindness really goes a long way in those situations.

Anyways, I moved to MA from TX in 2020 & adopted Jethro in 2021 and I didn’t have any troubles whatsoever reading nor understanding the signs. As a southern individual, and also well traveled thanks to being military & simply blessed, when I see “small dog park” I think small dogs and when I “All size dog park” I think all dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcomed. Not sure what the previous problem was with the signage but it’s pretty clear to me(& I’d think all New Englanders, & humans alike) that there’s a small dog park to take your small dog to if you don’t want them playing with everyone. I believe there’s even a weight limit on the small dog park signs? Anyways, we love Chelmsford Dog Park, both sides, as Jethro started on the small side and then got big😂 We also really love when the little gray French Bulldog Shakira comes over to the all dog size park. That’s one of Jethro’s girlfriends and they have so much fun together. Shout to Diane and Shakira! We love y’all and many others that go here ♥️ amazing dog park, keep up the outstanding work, and we will miss it very much come June as we’re moving to FL. Thank you Chelmsford Dog Park for all the wonderful memories you’ve given me and Jethro ♥️

We recently moved to the area and stopped by Chelmsford dog park today and loved it. It’s very icy because of recent weather but my dog enjoyed being able to run around and meet a few friends. Looking forward to coming back when some of the ice melts!
We just took our puggle here for the first time on Sunday, overall it was a good experience (for small dogs) and we will be back. The small dog side had a bunch of friendly dogs who all played together well. The owners were nice and all the dogs seemed happy for the hour plus we were there. I was disappointed by the amount of poop that wasn’t picked up- the Billerica dog park, while smaller, does not have this issue.
The other side of the park with the larger dogs, had several aggressive dogs and owners who had no business being there. There were several fights with multiple groups of dogs and a few owners and at least one dog got bite. I hope that is not the norm as it is a huge park and the dogs really seemed to enjoy it.

This my pup’s favorite place in the world. The Friends of the Chelmsford Dog Park has worked very hard to make sure that there is grass for pups to run and roll in and there are multiple poop bins with poop bags located above them so you can pick up after your pup. It’s very clean and friendly.During Covid they’re requiring everyone to wear masks at the park to keep it safe and open. It’s busy most of the weekend but evenings and mornings are pretty quiet. There’s a side for pups under 25lbs and another for all sized dogs with an additional area that can be closed off and rented for small gatherings. If you see my crazy pup (from the photos) feel free to say hi! It’s the friendliest dog park in New England!

Horrible experience every time I come here. One time going there, there was this husky that pin my dog down, bark and tried to bite my dog multiple time. I ask the owner for some help but just look at me and continue talking to their crowd. Until the same dog attack my dog and another dog was when he finally did something. His friends then blame my dog for the problem and the other person for the situation that happen. The second time I went was today, this lady was to busy on the phone and had no patience. My dog is a really friendly dog and tried to introduce himself twice to her beagle and she yelled at me saying my dog don’t want to play with yours and continue talking on the phone. Her dog clearly look thirsty and hot but didn’t do anything but instead continue talking on the phone. I left after that. I can’t deal with stupidity. This place is either you know people or it’s not the right place. Everyone has there own pack and think their dog is better than yours. They constantly talk down on your dog when their dog is the only attacking other dogs. If you go here make sure you have a friend with a dog for your dog to play with because most likely you’ll run into someone who’s going to blame you for something or just talk down on you. Don’t bother with this place. Just ignorant selfish people. There is some people there that are extremely nice and their dogs but you have to go at the right time. Highly suggest benson park in NH, it’s far but everyone there is extremely nice and so are the dogs. Amazing place.

I really enjoyed it, I have a pug and he was still able to play on either side the small dog side or the bigger dog side. This was important to me because I did not know how he would do with all the other bigger dogs. He was fine, the people were great, I cant wait to bring him back =)

Hi I used to bring my dog there all the time. But my dog got attacked by another dog that was part pit bull. I have a very mild Lab. Had a hard time getting him off her. Very aggressive dog. Cost me 700.00 to get her ear fixed. Sad people should never bring aggressive dogs to dog parks

My family ( including my 4.5 year old son)went to dog park today with our Luna to pay. We have been going there on few occasions before and always had good experiences. Unfortunately we are asked to leave today abecause apparently my son was too small to be here. The president threat to call police on our family too. So my question is what is the age of kids who can come with their pats? Moreover you really have to have a sign at entrance stating that kids are not allowed!!! Thank you for listening!

Love bringing my little guy here several times a week. But today the small dog area had about 6 dogs in it and not one was under 25 pounds. The dogs were friendly and playful but literally ran over my 15 pounder. When she gets intimidated by big dogs she just walks away but they would not leave her alone. My statement that the other dogs were a too big had no effect so we just left. Hope this is not a common occurrence.

It would have been nice to know that the park was closed before I drove thirty minutes there. I checked Facebook and google, both saying the dog park was open. I pulled up parked my car, my sister got out of the passenger seat (all while a woman was clearly starring), I got out and then got my dog out of the car, after the dog saw my car proceeded to tell me the dog park was closed for the day for a work day and that I could come help them but they were pretty much done. There were about five or six dogs playing in the smaller section of the dog park. I'm not going to leave my dog in the car while there are other dogs playing in the dog park to come help you. If your going to close the park, clearly post it so that everyone knows it's closed.

Great place to bring your dog for a good run or to wear that puppy out. Separate areas for large or small dogs. Lots of room to run and water and pooper pick up already there. Benches for sitting while your dog runs wild in a safe fenced area.
Austin and I are enjoying our daily trip to the park. He is always soooo excited to see his friends and is always tired afterwards!

Trying to get use to getting in the gates when you first arrive- dogs seem to surround the entrance gate. Mocha has a great time- met her new "crew"! All dogs & people were friendly, watching their dogs and had fun‼️

I have been to the Chelmsford New dog park 3 times. The first time I arrived some lady greeted me at the front gate to tell me I needed to read all the rules and obey them before I was allowed to bring my dog in. I was told to leave the tennis balls at the gate and I can get it on the way out. My second time going apparently my dog was having to much fun because she was playfully barking as she was running around with the dogs and I was told to read the sign out front that read NO EXCESSIVE BARKING. I was told if my dog didn't stop barking we were going to have to leave. I was also TOLD TO MAKE SURE MY CAR IS LOCKED BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN WINDOWS SMASHED AND A FEW BREAK INS INTHE PARKING LOT. My third and final time going to the dog park I got out of my car with my 5 year old nephew and was trying to walk in when a lady stopped us from entering and said kids are not allowed in. Literally was blocking the front gate from letting me in. So let's think about this. We are not allowed to bring toys, my 30 pound boxer isn't allowed to bark, my car has a chance of being broken into or my window smashed and my family isn't allowed to enter the park. Going to this dog park won't even cross my mind again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We go the to dog park every day. It is simply the best dog park within 100 miles (and we have visited more than a few in the last 5 months)! It's clear, the Chelmsford Dog Park was planned with tremendous love and care for the community, dogs and their humans. It has become an anchor for our community. Featuring a walking path to keep us humans active, and a shade area with picnic tables for us to relax and watch our fur babies have fun, water fountains, an agility area, and a park area for pups under 25 lbs (although many of the little pups prefer to be with the larger dogs and boss around the big softies) :). Lots of parking, and right around the corner from Sully's :). Most of all, I love spending time with the lovely people who come to the dog park. Well done!!!
